英文论文中的直接引用和间接引用有什么区别?

　　直接引用和间接引用是英文论文中会使用到的两种引用方式，其中直接引用比间接引用更常见。今天我们就来一起了解一下，这两种引用方式究竟有哪些不同。正在撰写论文的小伙伴们，注意区分两种不同的引用方式哦!

　　一、关于引用citations

　　在文献综述或研究报告中提供的信息是一个源自作者的新想法和数据，加上从其他作者的早期作品中“借用”的想法和数据的组合。使用引用可以让作者对这些作者的信息或想法给予适当的赞扬。这样做可以避免抄袭。引文还会引导读者阅读论文结尾的参考文献，这将告诉他们更多关于研究或正在讨论的问题的想法。

　　二、direct citations直接引用

　　直接引用，顾名思义就是直接使用第一作者的作品，而非从别人引用来的作品去引用。直接引用中根据你引用的字数不同，会稍微有一些区别。一般是以40个单词为界限。

　　三、indirect citations间接引用

　　间接引用是在参考别人观点的情况下，加入自己的研究。

　　四、两种引用方式示例

　　1.只有一个作者的作品引用(包含姓氏和出版日期)

　　直接引用：

　　Hasker (1987) has demonstrated that practice improves performance.

　　或者

　　The positive effect of practice upon performance has been demonstrated by Hasker (1987).

　　间接引用：

　　The positive effect of practice upon performance has

　　been demonstrated (Hasker, 1987).

　　2.两个作者的作品引用(姓氏+日期)

　　直接引用：

　　Jones and Washington (1992) conducted an examination of the differences between …

　　注意：“and”一般是在文内使用

　　间接引用：

　　An earlier study (Jones & Washington, 1992) examined the differences between …

　　注意：“&”一般在括号中使用

　　3.三个及以上作者的作品引用(只需要引用第一作者的姓氏，接着是“等人”以及出版日期)

　　直接引用：

　　A weakness of the Gomez et al. (1984) study was that they failed to control for the possible effects of …

　　The Brown, Smith et al. (2000) study supports the Brown, Young et al. (2000) study.

　　间接引用：

　　These results (Gomez et al., 1984) also represent the first demonstration that …

　　This finding (Brown, Smith et al., 2000) agrees with a study published earlier this year (Brown, Young, et al, 2000).

　　有时需要在同一个句子里引用多个引文，引用方式又会有所不同。如下所示：

　　4.作品为同一作者(按出版顺序，标注a，b，c等，用逗号分隔)

　　直接引用：

　　The importance of early experience to the visual system has been shown by Hubel and Wiesel (1963. 1965a, 1965b).

　　间接引用：

　　These findings differ with population (Shannon, 1999. 2000a, 2000b)

　　5.作品不是同一作者(将第一作者的名字按字母顺序列出)

　　直接引用：

　　Hanson and Bender (2002) and Ponder (1997) found this generalizes to females as well.

　　间接引用：

　　The importance of feedback has been demonstrated repeatedly (Foss, 2000; Johnson & Barber, 1995; Martz, 2003)

　　6.直接引用参考文献时，引文需要有作者的姓氏、出版年份、页码，引用材料前后都需要有双引号。

　　直接引用：

　　Flammel (1998) found that “the effect disappeared after participants completed multiple trials” (p. 287).

　　间接引用：

　　According to at least one study, “Extrinsic rewards were no longer needed to motivate participants to perform” (Soo, 2002. p. 309).
